Claudio Kilgannon is the eldest son of Cambria and Coheed Kilgannon. A seemingly ordinary male child, his life inverse drastically with the murder and capture of his family, including his eldest sister Josephine, and his congenial twin siblings Matthew & Maria. He fled the scene and, believing someone was out to get him too, hides abroad, afterward discovering he had abilities. He was in hiding for nearly 10 years, during which he discovered that he was being hunted past Supreme Tri-Mage Wilhelm Ryan, leader of Sky's Fence. He reluctantly teamed up with fallen Prise Ambellina and his uncle Jesse Kilgannon, where he learned that Ryan believes him to be The Crowing, a mythical figure destined to be God'due south judgement, which Ryan fears volition degrade him.

Appearance [ ]
Kilgannon is a scrawny only tall teenager with short dark brownish pilus and eyes. He has light skin and a clean-shaven face.[1] As he aged, he became a scrap more muscular, his hair grew out significantly and he developed a full beard.[2] Due an encounter with an Onstantine Priest when he was younger, he sports a scar correct below his right eye approximately two inches in length down his cheek.[3]
History [ ]
Early Life [ ]
Kilgannon was built-in a few years after the disappearance of The Black Rainbow in Sector 11, planet ane: Hetricus. His elder sister, Josephine, was only about 3. He lived a relatively uneventful childhood. His parents were loving and caring, if a bit quirky. Kilgannon had a vibrant imagination and often drew, merely didn't share this talent with others. He was extremely shy and a bit recluse, and was often teased, or even bullied as a result.[4] When he was xv, he met approachable and personable Newo Ikkin at his loftier school, Rye Cooper in Valley's Hills. The two began dating shortly after. Kilgannon fifty-fifty felt comfortable showing her his drawings.
Ane evening while he was 17[1] and out with Ikkin, he got home rather late (around 1 am). Fearing penalisation for breaking curfew, he went around to the backdoor of the house to find it had been completely broken in; the business firm totally dark. He tried the light which failed and he smelled something odd. Fearing the worst, he called out every bit he ran in, but slipped on the flooring. Once inside, he could make out his sister'due south class nearby in the kitchen. He made the connection that he slipped on her blood, and embracing her, foolishly attempted to revive her. Only, at his touch on, she did, just for a moment, and was able to warn him of an attack past an Onstantine Priest ordered to impale him, before she once again, was lifeless. Kilgannon fought the Priest, bashing it with a nearby hammer, merely not before the Priest ran a sharp hook down his cheek nether his right eye—a scar that would follow him the remainder of his life. The Priest was merely briefly incapacitated before coming back even stronger. It was then that Kilgannon was able to stage through the kitchen wall and landed outside in the grass. With the Priest not being able to come across him, he ran abroad to Ikkin'southward business firm. Past this time, it was effectually 5 am, and she was asleep. He stayed invisible but became tangible to motion her sail higher. Taking a picture of them both from her nightstand table, he left her a note, and left her dwelling.[3]
Military camp Si-Revody [ ]
Wondering around, avoiding constabulary, Kilgannon came upon Hershel'south Firearms store, and made himself intangible enough to steal a gun. He went to the nearest off-world transport port—a garbage hauling facility—where an interplanetary garbage transport ship known as The Guile Greaver was getting ready to take off. He sneaked aboard,[5] staying hidden as the ship made various stops to pick upward more trash. Kilgannon used his phasing ability to explore the ship, finding hundreds of isolation tubes containing Stars. It was here that he learned the garbage ship was headed for Shylos X, and that each Star'due south free energy output was existence monitored. He went to ane of the tubes, attempting to communicate with one of the prisoners, but was attacked past them instead, the prisoner easily breaking out of the drinking glass container upon irritation. An alarm immediately rang out and United Red Ground forces soldiers apace came to have care of the prison house break. In order to avoid detection by the guards, Kilgannon in one case once again became invisible, as the guards killed the loose prisoner and dragged them off.[6]
Upon arriving on Shylos X, Kilgannon discovered that the Red Army was using the makeup of the decomposing planet to hide its operations there. The soldiers herded the Stars out of the transport ship using a conveyor belt like structure that passed an electric-like current through their bodies which caused them paralyzing hurting. Their destination was a nearby facility called Camp Si-Revody and made upward mostly of ane kind of race, but also other, smaller groups of uncatalogued races that were all called "Stars" past the soldiers who had no regard for whatever of them. Kilgannon stayed to the shadows and tried not to interact with any i, but subsequently a few hours without nutrient, he approached a Star, posing as a young man uncatalogued race. He explained that he had just come in on the ship that morning, and the Star excitedly told him about the news that a Star had attempted to escape and took on five guards before falling. As no one had ever even tried to escape before, that Star became a hero to the other Stars, posthumously given the championship, "Hearshot Child." This Star gives his name as Cecil and agreed to help Kilgannon.[7]
Life at Si-Revody was not like shooting fish in a barrel. Red Army soldiers treated the collective inhabitants like the trash the planet was built on, which caused Kilgannon to want to do something about information technology. Cecil was always quick to remind him that this was the way of life at the camp, but for Kilgannon it only reminded him of how he was too bullied and scorned at school. Ultimately, when the time was accounted right, all the inhabitants were destined to be fed to the Keywork. Eventually, Kilgannon could not stand the treatment of the Stars whatever longer, and existence invisible, he took i of the soldier'southward gun and striked said soldier to stop him. No one seemed to notice anything out of the ordinary, but Cecil warned him to lay low with his powers since he knew if someone constitute out they will impale him, immediately. The pair stumbled upon the expressionless body of a Star, just information technology clearly didn't die from a gunshot or beating, as is the usual MO of the soldiers since the tummy was ripped out.[8]
Later, Kilgannon heard near the Ghansgraad for the first time from Cecil, where they discussed the fact that the book didn't fifty-fifty mention Cecil's kind. Cecil told him that the book is ultimately just a collection of words that are subject field to alterations and mistranslations, often for selfish reasons. He also warned Kilgannon to not believe everything he reads. It was at this moment that the pair felt the aftershocks of Sector 12 separating from the rest of the Debate and and so, just every bit suddenly, an Onstantine Priest burst through the shabby wall of their lodgings.[9] Though initially knocked downwardly, Kilgannon was able to hold back the Priest's onslaught, just only defensively. When the Priest was just about to impale Cecil and Kilgannon came to have no choice simply to surrender, Red Army soldiers began to burn on the Priest, driving it away. Remaining invisible, Kilgannon was still undetected by the soldiers, but Cecil and the other Stars were agape of what Kilgannon'due south presence and abilities would bring with them and asked him to get out. Though he protested, ultimately Kilgannon did leave, if but to keep his friend safe and give him peace-of-mind. He wandered around the rest of Shylos X, figuring it was a relatively inconspicuous place to stay.[x]
Godder Damm [ ]
When Kilgannon next surfaced, he had made a new base in the City of Godder Damm. X years in hiding his hair had grown out past his shoulders and a beard had formed. At present roughly 27, Kilgannon wore whatever wearing apparel he could steal or win in bill of fare games and had no real access to a shower or toothbrush. Godder Damm was a urban center of filth, only the same equally the rest of the planet, but in its example, information technology practical not merely to its architecture and atmosphere, but also to the content and attitudes of the people. Many people would steal, crook, or panhandle as a means to get past, Kilgannon included.[two] It was during this fourth dimension that Kilgannon began seeing the figure of his begetter. It is unclear if this was a truthful Entity of him, or a unproblematic hallucination. In either case, the figure urged Kilgannon to take upward a leadership role in the rebellion against Ryan. Though an adult, Kilgannon was all the same very much scared of this thought, and would ofttimes argue with the figure leading many people nearby to presume he was mentally ill.[11]
Kilgannon frequented the bar "Faint of Hearts" regularly, and would often pose every bit a complete drunk and then cheat at cards, though how exactly is unclear. Information technology was hither that he met Al the Killer, who owned a ship, and played him for a ride off-earth. He lost that game, flipped a table, and stormed out.[12] A few days later information technology was announced that Ryan was captured by the rebels and would stand trail. Kilgannon finally felt some relief; even though he was a coward, he was concerned about the way Ryan treated the citizens of the Fence. But his father's figure continued to appear to him and he continued to rave, even whilst jubilant. It was during i such rave that he was almost attacked by an Onstantine Priest earlier the fallen Prise Ambellina not only diverted the creature's aim, simply likewise ripped it to shreds to slow information technology down a bit. She confessed to him that she had been following him in the shadows for exactly ten years, four months, and three days. She also explains that she was called to watch over him at the cost of her wings. She besides tells him he is the Son of Iii (The Crowing) for the kickoff time, though he is flabbergasted as Ryan had just been defenseless.[13]
Aroused with yet having to answer a call he felt unprepared and unsuited for, Kilgannon attempted to dissuade Ambellina from this line of thinking, but she but tried harder. She as well called him out on his fear and mocked him for being untrained. He showed her the circulate of Ryan in his detainment, and asked her how he could still accept a duty when Ryan was so thoroughly taken care of and she answered that seeing is not necessarily believing. They fabricated their way to Kilgannon's hideaway, which wasn't much more than a hovel underground.[14] Upon hearing a huge cry of joy above ground, Kilgannon left and witnessed Ryan's execution alive on the huge, fundamental, main viewscreen. Shortly after, he left and met upward with Ambellina, but instead of heading home, they navigated the sewers to where a Red Ground forces Interrogation Unit operated. Kilgannon explained that when the ground forces is washed with their interrogations, they ofttimes dumped the remains into the sewers, valuables and all. Kilgannon came across remains that were truly mangled simply somehow looked like a dummy. Ambellina told him that it was an IRO-bot and revealed that his parents were besides IRO-bots, to his complete surprise. Ambellina took the take chances-discover as a sign that Kilgannon couldn't run from his by, but he resisted; physically turning insubstantial for a brief moment to go away, only to accidentally stage back with part of his arm still in contact with her body—her heart specifically. She was instantly knocked out. Kilgannon panicked—only made worse by his male parent's figure appearing to chastise him. He tried to shake her awake, expelling some of his power in the process. It is non entirely articulate whether this ability is what brought her back, or if the time frame he had phased into her heart hadn't been enough to be fatal, only either way she revived. She gathered the pieces of the IRO-bot they establish and carried it all the way back to his hovel. This was also when Kilgannon agreed to finish running, on the condition he was allowed to call Ambellina "Bell," to which she as well reluctantly agreed.[15]
Ryan was revived and due to the encounters with the Priests, Ambellina was fairly certainly that he targeted Shylos X with that cognition and urged Kilgannon to recall of a way for them to become off-world. Kilgannon took some fourth dimension to rebuild the IRO-bot, trying to work quickly, as the pair heard the roar of what they initially thought was the Reddish Army. It turned out to be Narrows which quickly overwhelmed Ambellina who was notwithstanding trying to defend him as he worked. Luckily, he finished merely in the nick of time. The IRO-bot, who told him his name was Sizer, transformed and barreled through the crowd with Kilgannon shut behind, using his insubstantial abilities to take out various people in a like way as he'd done accidentally to Ambellina. Once he joined her, he put up a forcefield shield, and constitute she was with Al. Notwithstanding not certain of Sizer's identity only with the understanding he was innocently on their side, the four of them concur to go off planet in Al's ship with a heading to Si-Revody.[sixteen]
Returning to Si-Revody [ ]
On the Camper Velourium (Al's ship), Ambellina sensed something weird about the transport, something to do with torment, to which Al dismissed the concerns, telling them that ship was acquired very cheaply since it used to be a slaver ship. They quickly made the journey across the planet to the Army camp simply to see it was emptied. Going higher upwards, they plant that all the inhabitants in the camp had been lined upwards to be sacrificed to the nearby Keywork generator. Ruddy Regular army sensors picked up the ship'south presence and fired on it. To buy time, Sizer (who had reverted back to a more human being form) jumped out of the cargo hold, transforming back into his monstrous form and landed on the other, Red Army attacking transport. Kilgannon phased out of the ship and onto nearby scaffolding to climb up to the platform. He engaged soldiers, mainly using his stage ability and various blasts of energy. Ambellina joined him on the platform, and the two took on the soldiers, only in the procedure, Kilgannon accidently pushed his friend, Cecil, into the Keywork generator. Kilgannon, shocked and panicked, dove later him into the generator. This created a reaction betwixt The Crowing and the Keywork which blew up the generator. Cecil could not be recovered, and the blast burned all of Sizer's peel, hair, and clothes, but Ambellina and Al (who was nevertheless in his send) were able to get away without issue. It was here that Kilgannon finally declared he would exact judgement from Ryan.[17]
Battle at House Atlantic [ ]
Back on the Camper Velourium and now headed for House Atlantic to join the rebels, Kilgannon searched the ship for Ambellina, just notice Al had paralyzed her afterwards she'd found his cache of victims hanging on meat hooks. The two fought briefly earlier Al was also able to paralyze Kilgannon. Having already used the paralyzing ring once already, it was not at full power when Al used it on him, so he was even so able to fight back without the control of his powers. The sloppier fight that ensued led Kilgannon to manipulate Al to strike his ship's control panel, sending the transport into a decease-screw, running completely out of control. They were already over House Atlantic past this time, and fighting again, Kilgannon phased the both of them out the side of the ship. He rapidly pulled away and shielded himself with the forcefield. Al crashed against a rocky cliff, seemingly expressionless.
Having seen the ship come downward, Kilgannon was quickly establish past his uncle, Jesse Kilgannon, who was known as Inferno (his IRO-bot code name) past his underlings. He had one of his "children" with him: a fiddling girl named Hunt, who immediately labeled him The Crowing. Shortly after this, the Prise who had been helping the rebels were sucked into Business firm Atlantic as a power source for information technology's transformation.[eighteen] Inferno ran off to meet the new threat, leaving Chase with Kilgannon. Hunt tried to reassure him he could really defeat the transformed stronghold, merely Kilgannon was in shock. It was at this time that Al silently came upward behind him and stabbed him with his knife, right through his left shoulder. Going insubstantial to be released from the pocketknife, Hunt stepped in to defend him. Al had even managed to pick Hunt upwardly off the basis before Kilgannon, having now seen the effigy of his female parent, was able to right himself and touched Al, taking command of his listen. Somehow, his knife wound was no more.
Chase and Kilgannon and then proceeded to walk through the soldier infested streets of Apity Prime number, with Chase heralding his coming to fulfill the prophecy in the Ghansgraad. They locked hands, their powers combining and generating a forcefield as the soldiers fired on them, only to be knocked back. Seeing that more and more than soldiers were coming and the rebel forces were exhausted and depleting, Inferno called for a retreat. Seeing this, Ryan ordered the mobile stronghold to prevent their escape, and Kilgannon (still untrained, just invigorated with the reunion of what little of his family remained) created a massive forcefield of energy that blew the giant blast sent their fashion back on it, destroying House Atlantic for the second time in its existence. The rebels successfully escaped on the Grail Arbor.[19]
Making Peace with his Family unit [ ]
Now on the Grail Arbor, Kilgannon began training his abilities with the help of Ambellina. They would run battle simulations on the Arbor'south holoroom. At kickoff, he was very frustrated. As soon as Ryan was presented in the simulation, he would immediately loose his absurd. Afterward a brief exchange with Ambellina in which he expressed his frustration and hopelessness with the training, he went dorsum to his room, attempting to remainder, but after a indeterminate time, ended upwardly with a screwdriver lodged in his hand confronting his bedchamber wall, yelling that he would "kill all of you," and his power activated, but seemingly doing naught in detail. Ambellina and Chase came immediately and found him.[20] They bandaged him up and asked what happened, only Kilgannon had no thought. He said, "I think I did [this to myself]... [Like a nightmare]... Only I wasn't sleeping." Chase dismissed this idea saying that what he was experiencing was an acceleration of the metamorphosis of his modify into The Crowing. Ambellina tried to explain her view of the prophecy: that The Crowing is a sign of hope and that instead of wiping out all life on the Fence, he tin can change the Fence to be improve. Hunt disputed this, citing The Ghansgraad saying, "[It] states that The Exultation is God's guess, who will dole out his vengeance." Before more could exist said, a transport-wide observe went out to report to the bridge for a debriefing and they left.
On the bridge, Jesse told everyone Ryan had a lock-down on interplanetary travel betwixt Omega (the planet Business firm Atlantic resides on) and the rest of the Fence, and that House Atlantic is fully operational even though they destroyed it but a few days prior. Kilgannon started to blame the captain for pulling them out earlier they could really be sure, merely Sizer (who had at present regained his retentivity equally Jesse's "son") stepped in to defend him declaring it was he that made the call. Ultimately, Jesse noted that House Atlantic had been collecting massive, unnecessarily large amounts of energy. He used this as justification for going back to the stronghold to assault it once more before information technology did whatever it wanted to practice with all that free energy. Kilgannon protested as it seemed similar a suicide mission; they already expended so much energy before only had to retreat and at present, just because he and Ambellina were with them, he thought they could somehow win? He called Jesse a "terrorist—just like his parents." This angered Jesse and he fought back against Kilgannon, to which Kilgannon noted that even Jesse's "children" are afraid of him. This led Jesse to lodge everyone off the Arbor'due south span. Helping him upwardly, Jesse told him he would tell him the truth.[21]
Alone on the bridge at present, the two sabbatum down. Jesse asked Kilgannon to recount what he knew about his family. He tells Jesse about how his parents were depicted as terrorists on the viewscreen in Godder Damm, even though the details were vague. Before this revelation, Kilgannon thought they were normal; his dad worked overtime at the manufacturing plant and his mom stayed dwelling house and made dinner. Jesse then told him almost KBI, Leonard Hohenberger, and how he had implanted false memories in his parents to let them live equally normal a life as possible. He likewise told him of how Josephine was meant to be the cure to the Monstar Virus when she turned 23, and how Mayo lied to Coheed leading him to practice the only thing he thought was the right affair. Kilgannon couldn't believe his male parent was that gullible, but Jesse explained how it could've easily been him that made the aforementioned mistake. They didn't accept memories that could explain anything. The ii reconciled their feelings and agreed to work together. Kilgannon requested to end past Hetricus on their way to their next destination, which Jesse granted him. This pit stop was then Kilgannon could visit his childhood home. Ambellina following him, he further reconciled his by with Ambellina helping him to realize and take his feelings.[22]
It is after this home visit, when information technology had just go dark out, that he went to his ex-girlfriend, Newo Ikkin'southward dwelling and sees her former dog, Apollo outside.[23] He chosen Ikkin, but hung up most every bit presently equally she picked upward. Apollo initially growled at Kilgannon, simply recognized him after sniffing his manus and he sits for a long fourth dimension exterior recounting all that happened to him in Godder Damm. He also occasionally all the same spoke to the figure of his father throughout his recount.[2] He talked to Apollo all night long, and as dawn approached, he considered Ikkin's position: she's lonely, maybe she never moved on, mayhap she has, merely sworn off relationships. Either manner, he confessed that he felt very apprehensive about actually approaching her.[18] As the sun rose, he decided two things he would let become: of Ikkin, and of the hatred he was harboring for his father, at which the effigy of his father disappeared, and doesn't seem to have come up back for him. Finally feeling some existent catharsis, he got up both literally and figuratively and departing from Apollo, alleged that he would be burning Star Four. Right as he said that, his ability flared, once more seemingly against his will,[xix] and he accidently destroyed a part of Ikkin'southward contend. Ambellina was just coming to get him, and quickly removed him from the scene as Apollo darted to the firm, barking.
Invasion of Hilmgore [ ]
Back on the Grail Arbor, Jesse held another briefing regarding their strategy for attacking House Atlantic again, hopefully for the last time. He showed them a hologram of a planet he claimed was Hilmgore, the artic habitation planet of the Narrows. He then told the coiffure that the Narrows possessed an item called The Terrene of Anonymity, an orb capable of making its user invisible (how the planet has remained subconscious). Jesse'south plan is to land on Hilmgore, accept the Terrene, cloak the Arbor, and bypass the blockade on Omega to country right at House Atlantic undetected. Using Narrow data from Sizer's encounter with them on Godder Damm via his retentiveness banks, he was able to create a homing device to find the planet. With a lilliputian encouragement from Kilgannon, everyone agrees to the programme.[23] Kilgannon went back to preparation in the holoroom with Ambellina and this time, exceeded her expectations. The Arbor institute and successfully landed on Hilmgore, and breaking into three teams, began to brand their way to the Narrows' citadel where they believed the Terrene to be kept. They were quickly outnumbered and overwhelmed, and ultimately surrendered. Not a people with honor, the Narrows absentmindedly knocked Kilgannon out, before their leader told them to cutting it out.[24]
The leader, Gibney, ordered Kilgannon's torso to be brought with Jesse's men to the citadel and ultimately ended upward in a jail cell with Ambelina.[25] Upon the blaring alarm that there had been a security alienation (the Terrene had been stolen), Kilgannon finally woke back up. Shortly later this alarm, the guards posted outside their cell were disintegrated, leading Kilgannon to assume that it was Chase who had the orb. He was right of course, and she revealed herself, putting the orb downwards a minute to free the pair, but more Narrows appeared. She called on Kilgannon to help, and with a burst of his power, he easily broke the door and selectively targeted just the Narrows, destroying them. Meeting back up with Jesse and Sizer, who had restrained Gibney, Kilgannon witnessed Jesse apologize to Gibney for their creation during the separation of Sector XII. Gibney spit on this apology and vowed he would hunt them downwardly to go dorsum the Terrene. The rebels apprehended a Narrow-modified motorbike and roadster to get the Arbor. Gibney and his men, though briefly trapped by Kilgannon's team's escape, were shut behind on horseback and in other vehicles. Worried that Many's team wouldn't be able to handle all the Narrows, Kilgannon jumped off the roadster and used his power to create spikes of globe that jutted out of the ground to throw back the closer Narrows and halt their progress. Just as the Arbor was taking off, Kilgannon managed to get on the bay of the ship and information technology took off immediately straight for House Atlantic.
First Battle Against Ryan [ ]
Resting a bit from the activeness, Kilgannon found an observation window and gazed out at Heaven'southward Fence. Ambellina plant him and while making observations about their state of affairs, Kilgannon told her that he was glad to have her by his side, babysitting oath aside. He declared he would do anything for her.[26] We practice not know what her reaction was, merely the pair went to the bridge upon the announcement that they had begun their descent on Omega into the nearby city of Kalline. They noticed the metropolis looked strange, simply earlier they could really look, Narrow ships closed in on them and they went into boxing mode. The occupying Cherry Army in Kalline saw the Narrow ships and sent Jackhammers to appoint them, inadvertently hitting the invisible Arbor in the procedure. Upset with the state of affairs, Sizer worked out that Jesse had immune this situation to happen, as he ordered Sizer to retreat rather than impale Gibney knowing that Gibney would come later on them. Jesse argued that they needed more men and this was a two-birds-ane-stone solution. With a portion of the Arbor damaged, the invisibility stopped working which left the ship open to target. Certain enough, the Jackhammers attacked the ship plenty to where the cloaking completely failed and the send came down. Jesse made Kilgannon and Ambellina go into the Arbor'south shuttlecraft known as the LEO. Not wanting to exit the rest of the squad, Jesse told Kilgannon that the rebel's fight was with Mayo while he needed to make his way to Ryan. The paired hugged genuinely before parting.[27]
Landing at House Atlantic'due south front door, Kilgannon and Ambellina immediately engaged Red Army soldiers in boxing before Ryan himself appeared with a small guard of a dozen or and so soldiers. Attempting to taunt the pair, Ryan signaled for his latest creation to come forward: The remains of Admiral Vielar Crom were now hooked upward to a pair of mobile legs that were at least a story tall. Ryan presented Kilgannon with a riddle, asking, "Tell me Crowing... Should all expert boys die with God at their side?" Kilgannon dismissed this, declaring that their battle would end here. Ryan pressed further, calling Ambellina a "pet affections" and telling them they couldn't write the "Destiny of a God," where God referred to himself. Ryan released some more dragonflies and mentioned their utilize in the Afterlife, to which Kilgannon replied with confusion. Ryan condescendingly said, "Don't tell me The Crowing isn't familiar with what happens after death! The purgatory your parents are no doubt floating in even as we speak?" Invoking his parents pissed Kilgannon off, and he fired back before declaring that this battle was now personal. Putting his hand, full of power, to the ground, Kilgannon explained that since House Atlantic was built on the corpses of people Ryan threw abroad for his personal proceeds, Kilgannon would raise them upwardly for a 2nd run a risk to give it right dorsum to him. Ryan did seem a flake surprised at the display.[28]
Not receiving any response in return, Kilgannon was the get-go to declare his side to assail with Ryan responding. As corpses, Kilgannon'south strength was easy to knock down, but hard to keep down. They easily climbed over the Reddish Army guards, which definitely startled Ryan and subsequently caused Crom to order the ground forces to ship in the Fields—a blazon of soldier that generates forcefield shields and acquit spears that can bypass the "field" to maintain an offence. During the thick of battle, Kilgannon noticed a strange phenomenon appear just behind where Ambellina was fighting. This odd affair morphed into a door. Calling out to her, he was too late as Hunt was thrown from the door, and another figure came partway through just to grab Ambellina and pull her through.[29] The door immediately disappeared later on she was pulled through, and Kilgannon, shocked, looked around in utter confusion. He demanded answers from Chase who seemed a little confused as well, but was able to explain that the door was the Creator'due south doing. Kilgannon, still non on board with that line of thinking, exasperatingly asked her to stop, but she persisted with the proof that he had shown her "the world beyond." They theorized what it could mean, just ultimately Kilgannon begged Chase to effort to open The Willing Well again and so he could go after Ambellina and make sure she was safe; the battle forgotten. Chase succeeded in doing that, and they went through the door without a second thought.
Castor with "The Creator" [ ]
In the Well was a vast, unclear void, until it wasn't anymore. Calling out, they heard the voice of the one who Chase causeless was The Creator—God, who told him shouting and struggling would get him no where. He withal pleaded for Ambellina'south release, later which God literally took his vocalism away. The city that approached them or that they came beyond revealed a scene: a male and female couple on a bridge, with the adult female clearly upset, fifty-fifty though the two held hands. The woman continued walking as the man took out a cigarette and lighter. The adult female and then disappeared and the man became an older, shirtless version of himself. He had long, curly hair, and was near likewise thin. The effigy took the lit cigarette out of his oral fissure and tossed it over the bridge into the river below, which caught fire, and surrounded Kilgannon and Chase. The figure then went on to describe how his relationships (he called them muses) never really worked out so he took all of their positive attributes and put them in Ambellina. He too told Kilgannon that he had tried to "write" away his own weaknesses past creating him. He told him that feeling what he did for Ambellina caused a character flaw, and making peace with his ex, Ikkin, was of his own volition; he questioned and defied his plan and challenged him.
Kilgannon chosen him out on his fallacies asking him if he truly thought he was the victim here. The Writer angrily replied that he knew his creations had grown ill-behaved after all he'd given them. Kilgannon continued to mock him, calling him spineless. The Writer cut off his tirade, choking him from afar and the scene shifted to a cosmic one. The Author was determined about a rewrite and conclusion to Kilgannon and his world. Kilgannon tried to plead for his help in saving the world, but The Author, now having produced Ambellina who was existence taken by mummified figures to a guillotine, stated that he never cared for happy endings. Calling out to her, Kilgannon tried to fight through the skeletal hoard equally Ambellina called out for him, and just barely made it to save her. The Author, in response to this outcome, simply said, "This is no beginning, this is the final cut!" and blasted Kilgannon away. Chase came to his side, and with more insults, Kilgannon began, in earnest with his Exultation powers, to fight The Author. Chase, calling The Author a prick, helped Kilgannon break free of the Well and the group plant themselves in a cave a decent distance away from Firm Atlantic. Ambellina, picking upwardly her sword, also joined the fight against the supposed God, simply he seemed to take all the same powers as Kilgannon except amend.
Finally knocking Kilgannon downwards, The Writer told Kilgannon he was wasting his fourth dimension, and pointed to Ambellina, just as a hand outburst its way through her chest.[thirty] Kilgannon immediately rushed to her side, and apace realized it was besides late. With her dying breath, Ambellina encouraged Kilgannon to continuing fighting, saying that she would e'er be with him, and that if she could, she would accept loved him.
